Reverse Bucket Lists, Z for Gen Z and Zebras
I had an item on my bucket list. Something happened that made me think of a Reverse Bucket List. A for Apple. But Z is for Zebra and Gen Z.
Reverse Bucket List
I always wanted to see the Northern Lights. I imagined myself lying on the snow and looking up at the play of lights in the sky. In May 2024 when I got to know that the universe was conspiring to bring the Aurora Borealis to my backyard, it was hard to believe. People were debating on Redditt about where to go. The advised, “Choose a place that is pitch dark so you can see the lights.” Guess what!
The reverse bucket list may seem like a spot for showing off. But no. I look at it as a spot where you go to derive a sense of fulfilment.
Spotify may know A-Z of Gen Z
In that case A would stand for the Affection that Gen Z is looking for. Here is a generation growing up without a sense of connections that we crave. Describe Gen Z in 3 words:
Fast. Overwhelmed. Unserious.
Outspoken, malleable, and entertaining.
Collaborative, tenacious, and open-minded.
(Nine adjectives from 3 people describing Gen Z)
Here are the Keywords that Gen Z uses to look for music. What do you think is driving this behavior? Is it just an overwhelming feeling of loneliness or is there something more?
Z for Zebra
It is easy to see the black stripes on the zebra. But try to see the white patches only. These white patches are the unwritten moments, the quiet pauses, the untold stories - that are just as meaningful as the bold, visible stripes. The white spaces represent possibility and potential, while the black stripes symbolize our known experiences. Together, they create a complete picture, just as our lives are made whole by both what is said and unsaid, done and undone.
Do you agree?
